A New Family Member

Ever since we had to have our dog, Allie, put to sleep last fall, Lynn has wanted to get another dog. Allie was a Golden Retriever/Lab mix. She had a sweet personality. I think Lynn was hesitant to get another dog, as he wanted to get one that had a good personality like Allie.

On Tuesday, some friends of ours ask Lynn's daughter, Janelle, if she would like a dog. She said, no, but her dad would. They bought this dog as a small puppy. They have 2 kids and thought it would be good for them. However, they feel the kids haven't bonded that well, and for whatever reason they have decided to give her to a good home.

This is Chloe (her name was Clover, but Lynn wants to change it to Chloe; since it has the same "first sound" I think she'll get used to it). She is a Golden Retriever, and has coloring very similar to Allie. She seems to have a good personality, and I think she'll be a good dog for us. We have a fenced pasture where she can run; you can see the fence in the above picture.

Now I won't have to take my walks alone--I can take Chloe with me. I'm just not sure who will actually walk who. She seems to have a lot of energy! She is 11 months old, so is technically still a puppy. I think she's going to be especially good for my hubby; I know he has missed having a dog.

Chloe is beautiful! That's right! You DO have a walking buddy now.

We enjoyed the chicken. It had great flavor, didn't it? I made a small batch of potato salad using the fresh eggs I'd gotten earlier....

Our guest should be here anytime. She is a little later than she thought. Wonder if she knows I go to bed at 9:00?????

What a sweetheart and how fun to have a new walking buddy! Someone told me that the best way to have to exercise is to get a dog or a paper route! lol

Chloe and you look quite bonded already, Donna. She is beautiful. I enlarged the photo to see her clearly and noticed that we own the same shoes! :) Happy walking with Chloe!

She looks very sweet Donna and I don't think that you can go wrong, personality wise with a lab. They are so loving. Enjoy your walks(runs!) with Chloe! I love the name.

Lucky Chloe to be your new family member. She has gentle eyes. I am sure we will be hearing some fun Chloe stories in future posts.

Precious Chloe, I hope she doesn't miss her Clover identity! Enjoy those walks, and make sure you're wearing your tennis shoes; otherwise she might leave you in the dust, panting!

I don't know much about dogs but I think Chloe and Allie look just alike. I am glad that you have a walking buddy! It just feels better with you walking out in the country. I forgot that your first dog had the same name as our new grand. . . :-)
