Worry--Part Two

I am using my sister, Lou, as a guest blogger for today's post. After she read my post from yesterday, she sent me this article that she found. So, although this wasn't original with her, I wanted to thank her for giving me a nice follow-up to yesterday's post. Thanks, Lou, for your contribution to my blog.

POINT TO PONDER: WORRY

Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? And if worry can’t accomplish a little thing like that, what’s the use of worrying over bigger things?
Luke 12: 25-26

We would worry less about what others think of us if we realized how seldom they do.
>Ethel Barrett

If a care is too small to be turned into a prayer, it is too small to be made a burden.
>Corrie ten Boom

Never trouble trouble till trouble troubles you.
>John Adams

Worry and trust cannot live in the same house. When worry is allowed to come in one door, trust walks out the other door; and worry stays until trust is invited in again, whereupon worry walks out.
>Robert G. LeTourneau

Anxiety does not empty tomorrow of its sorrows, but only empties today of its strength
>Charles H. Spurgeon

It ain’t no use putting up your umbrella till it rains
>Alice Caldwell Rice

Anxiety is the natural result when our hopes are centered in anything short of God and his will for us.
>Billy Graham

Don’t tell me that worry doesn’t do any good. I know better. Things I worry about don’t happen.
>Author Unknown

Borrow trouble for yourself, if that’s your nature, but don’t lend it to your neighbors.
>Rudyard Kipling

You have a disagreeable duty to do at twelve o’clock. Do not blacken nine and ten and eleven and all between, with the color of twelve. Do the work of each and reap your reward in peace. So when the dreaded moment in the future becomes the present, you shall meet it walking in the light, and that light will overcome darkness.
>George Macdonald

This "worry" theme is so appropriate for me right now. I've had a difficult day with a hard experience. I need to quit worrying about it.

I can remember someone telling me... don't worry till ya got something to worry about. I always worry about what can happen..not what has happened.

Hi Donna,
I so enjoyed this post. What wonder uplifting words to remember. It is so hard sometimes for us mere humans not to worry, even though we aren't supposed to!
I always try to turn my worries over to our Lord. It truly does help!
Thank you for following my blog. My post today wasn't nearly as uplifting as yours!

Hi Donna...Reading all these quotes together at once just gave a boost to my day. Remember the song Don't worry be happy? Well, that's what I try to do, because my husband does enough worrying for the both of us...I should have him read your sister's post. Thank you for following my blog...I look forward to following yours!
